My New Media Studies senior project: a visualization of theories involving remediation and media convergence through the use of motion design techniques.

My video has three parts:
The idea of incorporating one medium in another. The core of what Jay David Bolter and Richard Grusin defined as remediation.

It also touches upon how the combination of the old media made something new which also involves the idea of familiarity wherein what is familiar is what was used and integrated to the device so that users will learn it easily because of the same reason that it is something that they recognize. 

My project explores how several earlier media converge into one newer media, in this case, a smartphone, which also explore why it is such an iconic device in the 21st century. The smartphone serves as a main channel for dispersing and receiving media formats such as text, video, photo and sound and how traditional media has converged and formed a contemporary media which is both familiar and new.
